Ledenika is undoubtedly one the most beautiful caves in Bulgaria. The wonderful rock formations, the great animal diversity and the fairytale-like stalagmites, stalactites and stalagnates to which the cave owes its name all contribute to its beauty. The last are ice formations which adorn the area around its entrance during the winter. The small lake which is believed to fulfill wishes gives the atmosphere a romantic touch.

The tour along the cave paths lasts about an hour, crossing different galleries and stopping at various rock formations – “Santa Claus”, “The Giant’s Head”, “The Witch’s House” or forms newly discovered by the tourists. Some rocks set a challenge – it is considered that only the righteous can go through the so called Sinners’ Pass. Sound connoisseurs will enjoy the Concert Hall. The acoustics here is incredible. That is why concerts are often held here.

Ledenika is located in the Vrachanska mountain, on the territory of Vrachanski Balkan Nature Park, 16 kilometres away from the town of Vratsa. The cave is a natural sight included in the List of protected territories and areas in Bulgaria as well as in the 100 National Tourist Sites.
