"The Memorial Temple of the Nativity"- also known as The Shipka Monastery is one of the most impressive orthodox churches in Bulgaria. The temple was built in memory of the Russian soldiers who died in the Russo-Turkish war. In 1970 it was declared a Cultural monument. The exquisite temple features richly ornate facade, gilded domes, a huge central dome and in the crypt under the church, the remains of the fallen troops rest in 12 stone sarcophaguses.
