N. Vaptsarov Drama Theatre is a repertory theatre in Blagoevgrad. It was established in 1919 as a town’s theatre housed in the building of Saglasie Community Centre. Many of the popular names in Bulgaria’s theatre have started their creative career or have achieved success on the stage of Blagoevgrad.

 

The theatre has won a number of prestigious awards from national reviews or festivals in categories such as best director, actor, scenography and music.

 

Since 1988 N. Vaptsarov Drama Theatre organizes and hosts the so called Theatre Days. The festival is very successful because the theatre stages the best plays from the current theatre season in Bulgaria.

 

The repertoire of the Blagoevgrad theatre is rich and diverse. The plays are targeted towards various categories of spectators. The theatre often goes on tour to promote its mission, entertaining its youngest lovers and bringing pleasure to spectators in the region.
