Art Gallery – Pernik
The Art Gallery in Pernik was founded in 1958. It was opened with an exhibition of 60 works – sculpture and painting. Today its fund consists of over 1500 contemporary works by Bulgarian and foreign artists. The works are divided in the following departments: painting, graphics, sculpture, applied arts and photography.
The gallery’s fund contains works by masters such as Zlatyo Boyadzhiev, Boris Ivanov, Lyubomir Dalchev, Ivan Funev, Dechko Uzunov and Nikola Tanev.
The 320-sq-m of exhibition area is distributed in three exhibition halls – Lyuben Gaydarov Gallery, Krakra Gallery and ARTsalon Gallery. Over 8000 visitors – Bulgarians and foreigners – walk through them every year. The gallery holds various exhibitions: solo and shared; guest exhibitions and exhibitions of works of its own fund. Apart from them, the gallery organizes the traditional painting plein air Art Studio/Rudartsi.
