State Puppet Theatre - Stara Zagora has a historically distinctive policy and aesthetic taste. It was founded in 1957 by a couple of young enthusiasts. Gradually, the theatre developed professionally, aesthetically and artistically. Today the theatre once again has an exceptionally young ensemble. Its repertoire is filled with numerous titles of plays for children and adults. It is very prestigious, both on national and international level.
State Puppet Theatre – Stara Zagora is a state-financed repertory theatre. It has staged over 300 performances by Bulgarian and international authors of plays for children and adults. It has its own building, stages (a main and a summer one) and ateliers, which allows it to effectively plan its activity. The participation in national and international puppetry forums and the awards it has received through the years are proof for the high level and professionalism of its creative team.
