The theatre life in Ruse has been flourishing for as far back as before Bulgaria’s Liberation. The first performance in the Danube town was staged in 1870. Through the years a number of renowned theatre personae have been exercising their art on the stage of the cultural institution. All of them have shaped the strong image of the respectful theatre institution which it is today.
