The building that houses Sevlievo’s Town Art Gallery today is one of the most beautiful in the town. It has remained a worthy monument of the industrious spirit of Sevlievo to this day. In 2008 it received the Façade of the Year prize. Since the same year it has housed the Asen and Iliya Peykovi Town Art Gallery with its rich fund that had taken decades to collect. Precious works by the world famous sculptor Asen Peykov and dozens of “space” paintings by his brother, artist Iliya Peykov, both of whom spent their childhood and adolescence in Sevlievo, are part of the gallery’s permanent exhibitions.

 

Gallery visitors can enjoy numerous exhibitions of classic and modern art arranged in the beautiful halls. The artworks (paintings, sculptures, applied art) span over an area of 700 sq m. The gallery presents works by Bulgarian artists who worked in the period 1910 – 2010.

 

A highlight in the gallery fund exhibition are the works of brothers Asen and Iliya Peykovi.
