Panev Art Gallery was opened in March 1999. It is located in the most romantic part of the town of Veliko Tarnovo, on the ‘Samovodska charshiya’ square. The gallery offers paintings by the Panev family. Here you can see the magnificent landscapes of Veliko Tarnovo, the most beautiful corners of Bulgaria and the unforgettable paintings of Bulgarian women painted by Ivanichka Paneva.
Petya Paneva’s exquisitely decorated jewellery as well as her modern unconventional watercolours and mixed media works are also part of the exposition. A genre and thematic variety is contributed by the paintings of the great Bulgarian artist and honourable academician of Russia’s State Academy of Arts Hristo Panev, associated with the best examples of Bulgarian fresco painting, as well as with his poetic drawings, graphic works and aquarelles. Gabriel Penev’s rich palette of contemporary modern, abstract and symbolic art is also present in the gallery.
With its high criteria, the gallery can satisfy even the biggest requirements of the contemporary art connoisseur.
In 2006 the gallery opened a branch in one of the most beautiful places along Bulgaria’s sea coast – Kamen Bryag – a place where the muse can never let you go. In 2013 a Panev gallery was also opened in the Arbanashki Han complex in the village of Arbanasi.
