One billion opportunities to find ourselves traveling
On 27th September the world celebrated World Tourism Day - every place, nation or city in its own way. Like every year, we’re again united by a motto. We’ll discuss, dream about and reflect carefully on this year’s theme: "One billion tourists, One billion opportunities." Indeed, it seems that opportunities are growing rapidly with the opening of countless archaeological and historical sites, new natural wonders being brought to light, finding novel ways and approaches to satisfy the everlasting human desire to explore the world.
Our humble country will definitely find a place in the myriad of tourist opportunities. A small country but what a great history….Bulgaria’s beautiful nature, immortalized in songs and poems, is a true inspiration for people around the world. The opening few measures of the National Anthem probably say it best: "Dear Motherland, you are heaven on earth, your beauty, your loveliness, ah, they are boundless”.
So where do we – people – stand in the magnificent story of Mother Nature? We belong to both history and nature, and the better we know them the better we fit into them, the more harmonious and meaningful life we would have.
